Already recognized as one of Australia's finest young musicians, violinist Alexandra Osborne is now making her mark in the United States. Down Under, the Sydney native has already performed as soloist with all of the major Australian Symphony Orchestras, given recitals throughout Australia, Japan, New Zealand, and the USA, and won numerous prestigious awards, nationally and internationally. In the U.S., she made her US debut in 2004, appearing as soloist with the South Bend Symphony Orchestra, and has participated in the New York String Seminar, and the Kneisel Hall and Sarasota Music Festivals, among others. In 2005, Osborne, who is nearing completion of a bachelor's degree at The Curtis Institute and pursues solo and chamber music studies, was selected for a substitute position with The Philadelphia Orchestra. In her young career, she has performed for such prominent artists as Pinchas Zukerman, Midori, and the late Lord Yehudi Menuhin.
