School: New England Conservatory
Originally from Turkey, violist Mehmet Aydin is a New England Conservatory student from Connecticut whose interests in the arts runs the gamut-not only is he an accomplished violist, but an accomplished composer in various styles. He also enjoys making beats/electronica, playing the drums and piano, painting, photography, and even poetry. Furthermore, his musical tastes go far beyond classical and into avant garde jazz, electronica, and improvisational music. In the future, he would love a career recording and performing his own styles of work. This past summer, Mehmet was a featured soloist with the Fairfield County Symphony and has also previously appeared with the Young Artists Philharmonic. Recently, he has taken the stage with artists Burt Bacharach, Christian McBride, Kenny Werner and Tim Hagans.
