School: The Juilliard School

When it comes to music, Lauren Sileo doesn’t play favorites. “My tastes run wider than most,” she laughs. “I’ll listen to everything from Bach to Black Sabbath!” Sileo’s experience is broad, too: a graduate of The Juilliard School (where she was the only flutist to be accepted for the 2002–2003 academic year), she has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and the Kennedy Center, and she has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra. On tour, she has played throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Sileo also works for a firm that promotes musicians, and she believes that Red Bull Artsehcro is an inspired way to advocate music. She says, “I think it’s a wonderful idea. I hope it’ll be a big draw.”
